A neural network (the same class of model behind paid enhancers) downloads to your browser once — it's about 2 MB — and rebuilds your photo at up to 4x the resolution, tile by tile, on your own GPU.

Detail, not stretching

Simply enlarging an image spreads the same pixels thinner. The model instead reconstructs fine detail — hair, fabric, edges, foliage — so the enhanced photo looks genuinely sharper. A Smooth mode cleans grainy, compressed photos rather than amplifying their noise.

Are my photos uploaded to a server?

No. The AI runs in your browser — on your graphics chip when there is one, otherwise on the processor — and the photo never leaves your device. Older computers just take a little longer.

How does the AI enhance photo quality?

A super-resolution neural network rebuilds each photo at 2x or 4x the resolution. Unlike simply stretching an image, the model reconstructs plausible fine detail — hair, fabric, foliage, edges — so the result looks genuinely sharper, not just bigger. A Smooth mode handles grainy or heavily compressed photos more gently.

Can it fix a blurry photo?

It meaningfully sharpens soft, low-resolution and compressed photos, and small images become dramatically clearer when upscaled. Heavy motion blur or strongly out-of-focus shots are beyond honest repair though — no enhancer truly recovers detail that was never captured.

How large can the result be?

Up to 4x the original resolution, limited by your device's memory — on a typical computer that means results up to around 64 megapixels. Very large originals are automatically enhanced at 2x instead of 4x so the result still fits, and the tool tells you when that happens.
